I like em, you like em, we all like em. Getting compliments can really boost your self-esteem, or make your day just that much better. But when you get a compliment from a 3 year old you just think it's so cute and it makes your heart melt.

Yesterday I had one of my kids (students) ask me what a compliment was, so I told him, "It's when someone says something nice to someone else. Like, 'Your hair looks nice today' or ' I like your shirt'. " So this whole week all my kids have been showering me, and some of the parents, with compliments. It's so great to see how their faces light up after they know they just said something nice to someone else. They have even been giving each other compliments... isn't that great. When you can get a group of children to give each other compliments without being told too, you got something GOOD going on!

Remember when I went to Washington D.C. ( You can read about that HERE and see pictures from it HERE & HERE ) Here is another picture from the awesome trip! :)
I like making faces... in case you were wondering :)

I HEART faces

Kids:: Joy...

Adult:: Joy

30 Days Of Winter +Day 13

I'm in a FUNK, and I can't get out of it. Ever since my 100th post I've been slacking and not on purpose. I've been trying NEW things: Like working out EVERYDAY; it's crazy! Trying to eat better, which I so want a Reese right now! We are trying to convert our spare room to an "office" and we are having the hardest time getting rid of the mattress and box spring in our HALLWAY.Can't wait to get that out of there!! :)One thing that I love doing, now that I have LONG nails, is paint them. One color I'm hooked on is BLACK. You might think it's weird but I LIKE IT. It may not be your thing, but it sure is MINE! I mentioned HERE that Jeremy used to collect beanie babies when they were all the CRAZE! So he has boxes full of them. Now he wants to sell them, and we went on Ebay to see how much they are going for and the most expensive one was about $10.00. I was amazed, I remember people going online to buy these for almost hundreds of dollars. But they are definitely not worth anything now. (Side note: Doesn't Jeremy look like a turtle with this lip like that?) HE is so gosh darn cute!!! Thats his Gorilla by the way.

BTW a big thank you to Living for the Little Moments for the Friendship award.
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Im still ALIVE

WOW... I can't believe it's been 3 days since my last post... I've really been slacking! Sorry ya'll. I have been busy/lazy, LOL. When I'm not busy I'm lazy... because I've been so busy! :) I have been WORKING hard this week because my boss' son got into a car accident and was in the hospital for half the week. He's home now, and he's doing good, considering.
I took this picture @ work... isn't she a cutie! :)

Fun Fact: Jeremy has a huge BOX full of Beanie Babies, do you remember those? Well... we were going through is box of BB and we found out that most of them are worth about $2.00. :) We'll see how much we get from the ones we can sell!

Today I got to spend time with my litte nephew, Tristan. It was awesome, I got to feed him, change him, and rock him to sleep. I can't wait to meet Jude... That's my older brother and sister-in-laws little guy, who is still in the oven! But he should be out ANY day now!

I've been nibbling at my nails... and if you know me you know that I was a chronic nail biter. Sometimes I go through stages when I bite them real short, but I am trying real hard to not bite them. I can do it, I know I can! :)

Have a GREAT Saturday!

L-A-Z-Y & Not Me Mondays

I was asked today why I haven't been posting regularly like I have done, and I haven't... and it's because I've been BUSY and tired lately. Not sure why... but TIRED... my body is still catching up from having 2 weeks off and then going back to work. I've been trying SO hard to go to bed early enough, but it hasn't been working out for me. :)

I figured since I was writing a post and it's Monday I would do a NOT ME MONDAY...

I did not have a snow day on Friday because the weather dropped to -25. And I did just sit around and do nothing.

Jeremy and I didn't have a breakfast buffet at the Turkey farm before we went over there. (It was not as satisfying as we thought it would be.)

I did not go over to Tab and Chris' house to help them organize their books and cd's. Nope, I was not helpful.

We did not then go to a movie and see Mall Cop, and it was not a funny movie, and I did not laugh once during it. NOpe!

We did not have Tab, Chris and Aliyah over at our house to watch a movie so they could see how AWESOME our tv looks, nope, why would we do a thing like that?

We did not wake up extra early for church because I didn't get to the church on Friday, because there was not a snow day, so I could get my lesson ready for Preschool in advance. Nope not me!

We did not go to Chili's and I did not order a BIG salad and then not finish because I ate to much queso.

I was not extremely tired today, and I don't want to know why! :)

Well there you have it, my NOT me Monday! See ya next week on NOT ME MONDAY! :)

P.S. Thanks for Not me monday's Mckmama

Silly, Simple Nothings

It's so funny how the SIMPLEST things can make a child so HAPPY! Such as taking ribbon that is connected to a stick and swirling it around to music. Yeah, that SIMPLE.

ON another note... Jeremy needed to charge his phone the other night and couldn't fin his charge cord. We have one we keep in the car to charge our phones in there, and since he was already in his underwear he just put on his sweater and ran out in the FREEZING cold. :) When he was walking back in I had my camera ready to snap him in his undies... :)
Look @ those calves :P

He is so funny, I love him! :)

Taking Pictures... And Learning New Things

I downloaded a book yesterday, yes... a BOOK. It's called Digital Photography Simplified... as I'm reading the beginning pages of this book I learn something new, how couldn't I, I'm not an expert, yet, on cameras and photography.
So... Today i learned this...

All digital SLRs and many small digital cameras
include the modes P for Program, A or Av for
Aperture-Priority, and S or Tv for Shutter Speed-
Priority exposure. The camera chooses both shutter
speed and aperture in P, making it good for quick
shots. In A, you choose an aperture for depth-of-field,
and the camera sets the shutter speed. In S, you
choose a shutter speed, and the camera sets the
appropriate aperture or f-stop.

If you didn't already know any of this, there you go... glad I could teach you a new lesson today! Take it or leave it... :)

This picture is positioned weird because I forgot my tripod at home and had to set my camera on the couch to get a group picture! :)

My younger brother Michael has a band concert tomorrow. He plays the trombone.. and he is one of the best out of... oh about 20 trombone players. I am very excited to go watch him play. I'll come back home tomorrow with pictures.

As some of you notice I did not do NOT ME MONDAY on Monday... today is Wednesday... yeah... I was extremely busy and LAZY on Monday. I will be sure to do one on next Monday!
For all those who have told me they enjoy reading them :)

Hey ya'll today I practiced on the drums for a little before I came home today from work... the sanctuary has as a drum set, so I went in there to practice my exercises, it was great! I can't wait to jam on the drums... it will be way more fuN! :)

Sitting at home with hubby, we're watching My Girl, and her friend just died and I am getting all teary eyed. Man, there are some movies that make me leak, out of my eyes!

What movie really made you shed tears?

I don't have much to say today.... so let me leave it with this....

"Last year, my performance review started with Michael asking me what my hopes and dreams were, and it ended with him telling me he could bench-press 190 pounds. So I don't really know what to expect."

30 Days Of Winter +Day 12

I had my first lesson yesterday on DRUMS... I told you I was going to do it... and I did. I was shown an exercise to do to help train my muscles and get them to do what I want in the order and way that I want, and I think I'm doing pretty good. I have been air drumming since yesterday. I'm hoping I can get this down! We'll see huh... Can't wait to get past the "sucky" point of my drumming career, hopefully it happens sooner than I think it will. :)

On another note, I made this yesterday of Jeremy and I kissing. I love it! well... it's suppose to move and at the end we kiss. If it isn't moving I'll get it figured out for everyone, just so you can enjoy it like I do! :)

Jeremy and I have our first small group tonight @ 7:00. We signed up this time for a home group so we just talk about the service at our group. Last semester we were in a marriage group, and it was pretty good. I'm really excited bout this group though because it's being led by Gerri and Devon, and I'm excited to get the opportunity to get to know them a little more. Gerri also has her own blog, go check it out HERE, let her know I sent ya over her way! :) Have a wonderful night ya'll!

SITS Give away...

Hey you all... go check out SITS because there is a great giveaway for camera straps. SHEY'S Etsy shop is HERE. go check them out. SWEET!

CHeck it OUT!

30 Days Of Winter +Day 11

Jeremy, Chris, Tabitha, Briony, and Myself hung out @ City's Scape Cafe (which happens to be the cafe in our church) because there were about 7 bands playing there. It was pretty interesting... the very first band did some Indian singing.. I wish I could give you an example on how they sounded. They did drums... which sounded extremely cool, but then... they had a singer singing some indian sounds. OKAY... I got a good example... you know the Lion King song that they sing when Simba is born? If you don't go watch it... because that is how the kid was singing, and they actually sang that song... the weird words and all. But goodness... Tab and I were trying so hard not to laugh, but it was funny. This was a drummer from one of the bands... his hair was huge, and when he banged his head his hair went everywhere, how annoying would that be?
One of my goals for this year is to learn to play the drums... so I was studying and watching the drummers that would play and they go crazy. They were wailing so hard on the drums, it almost looked like their drums would break. BUT... they didn't!This drummer had a purple V neck shirt on... which was weird to see a guy with a V neck shirt on, but he ws pretty cl to watch drum! He... along with the other drummers... was wailing on the drums... it was CRAZY!
Well... there were some pretty good bands and some... a little weird and hard to understand... all in all it was pretty cool!
See ya next time on my 100th post!

2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show GREAT ATTITUDE and/or GRATITUDE!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.

4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

I have to nominate 10 blogs but I will only do 5? Well... here goes

Tabitha @ Fresh Mommy
Kaitlyn @ UpturnedBarbie
Cindy @ The Grass Can Be Greener
Ashlee @ Moments I Have Been Waiting For
Gerri @ Peach & Love

@ Matt & Ashlee's baby shower I got to take care of Tristan... Here I am burping him, he had a good one too. :) It was my first time feeding him and burping him too. I can not wait to meed Jude... ALSO... good news, Matt & Ashlee asked Jeremy and I to be Jude's god parents. How great it that? It is such an honor. They both had their reasons and I really appreciate all the nice things they had to say about the whole situation.
So... whooo... to that.

30 Days Of Winter +Day 10

Matt & Ashlee were in town and while they were "home" Ashlee's mom threw her a baby shower. Seeing how she is 8 months pregnant! It was really nice! We were all bummed because the Diaper Game, you know the one where you smell the "poop" to figure out what candy bar it is, wasn't going to work. They were melted @ my mothers house and brought to the party, but now one even thought about it hardening. So... by the time we were ready to play the game the diapers were "glued" shut with dried hard "poop." I guess Ashlee likes how the POOP smells. :)
Matt is really excited about disposable bibs! :)

It is officially the weirdest! I'm surprised it could fit around his NECK! :)
This was another game... we had to guess the size of Ashlee's stomach using yarn, and who ever was the closest won... guess what... I didn't win. Mine was too big!
The cupcake/cake topper. It looks edible, but when Ashlee tried biting into it it was PLASTIC.:)

I can't wait to meed Jude, my other nephew.
Oh... Ashlee has started her own blog. Check it out.... She'll be using the blog to help keep family updated on Jude and their little family they got going on! Good For YOU!

Not ME! Monday...

EXERCISE... that's what I am trying to do this year. My goal is to TONE up and eat HEALTHIER. So here goes nothing...

By the way... it's MONDAY... do you know what that means? That's right it's time for

I did not sleep in til 11 everyday for the past 2 weeks because I didn't have to work. And I definitely did not ignore the fact that I should be preparing my body for the work week and I didn't ignore that and still sleep in.

I did not take care of 3 cutie patooties on my last 2 free days of no working, because I don't like taking care of other people's kids, and I most certainly wouldn't sacrifice my last two days of no work just to go work!

I did not sit at home for the past 2.5 weeks when I should have gone grocery shopping and we most definitely did not eat out for the past 2.5 weeks because I didn't go grocery shopping.

I did not have a sip of Champagne to ring in the new year, that's just silly!

I did not make a list of things to do and then totally ignore my list. Why would I do a thing like that.

I did not give my husband a BIG.... SMOOCH (What did you think I was going to say) to ring in the new year!

I did not get a pair of boots and then take them back a week later because they were already falling apart, why would I spend lots of money on boots like that.

I did not wake up this morning and ask my husband what day it was or if I had to go to work. Why would I do that, I'm a grown up!

I did not get a bunch of scrapbooking supplies and lay them out, and I most definitely did not only finish one page in about 1 hour.
I did not set my alarm clock for 7:00 AM so I could work out, only to reset it to 7:30 because I wanted more sleep. NO, I wouldn't do that, I'm trying to EXERCISE. I wouldn't do a thing like that!

There are many things I did NOT do... what didn't you do?

P.S. Check out Mckmama's blog and see what she didn't do!

30 Days Of Winter +Day 9

I love doing photos in black and white, sometimes it just changes the whole essence of a photo. This is my nephew, Tristan, isn't he adorable. I'm planning a session with him and his MOMMY soon. I can't wait! I'll be sure to share the finished project!
His eyes are gorgeous:)
